Colourful Rugs and Wood Shavings

Have a look at this masterful rug created by Red Spruce!  It's an extraordinary feat of  design and craftmanship, and an excellent example of local artistic collaboration. Designed by Nick Brunt, coloured, dyed, graphed and finished by Michael Christie and hand hooked by Janet Delo - This five by nine foot rug is simply jaw dropping.

And look who we have here... It's Barry Colpitts!

Is This Where You Live?

Kyla Francis has been crafting her fancy halifax street scene glasses for a while now, and it's high time we got these gems on our blog and website for all to see.

Look familiar? These beauties are true Haligonian homes and landmarks, hand printed as decals and
applied to dishwasher safe glassware.
That's right kids, they're dishwater safe!

Aaaand, they're only $20 each. Truly the perfect gift for anyone who loves our fair city.
Stop in soon if you want to pick up a few... they tend to disappear quickly.
We'll be here waiting for you at

Barry Colpitts Saturday, April 9th

This Saturday, April 9th, is the day that Barry Colpitts returns to Argyle Fine Art for a special carving demonstration.  To lead into this exciting demonstration,  Barry stopped by the gallery to meet with Breakfast Television for an interview, and brought along a new flock of friendly carvings.

Tomorrow, Barry will be working away on a large rabbit in our front window from 1-3:30, and may even bring a few more folk carvings for us to enjoy.  Stop by and watch him skilfully carve away at a block of wood with homemade tools in death defying techniques that will make you wince (we're shocked that he still has all ten digits...)
