Stacking Seagulls and Sinful Birds

Barry Colpitts
Barry Colpitts is an unassuming individual,
but he's also a little (dare I say.....) eccentric??

Barry was nice enough to pay us a visit at our new gallery space a few days ago,
and appeared with an arm full of new carvings.
As always, this latest collection of folk art is playful, colorful, and unquestionably odd.

Fox Who Ate My Chickens
Seven Sin Crows (in easy words)

Porter Fans - Prepare yourselves for a special treat!

It turns out that Brian Porter has a habit of squirreling away extraordinary examples of his artwork for years...DECADES even! I suppose we shouldn't have been surprised, I would have done the same - witholding one piece here, one piece there, so that I could
look back from time to time.
Lucky for us, Brian has agreed to send a number of these treasures to the gallery and they're
now available for viewing.

All works are on paper, ready to be framed, hung and loved out in the open.

These are just a sample of what we've received. Stop by the gallery from Tuesday - Saturday from 10-5:30 and have a peek at the entire collection in person.

And don't forget to visit www.argylefa.com to see more works by Brian Porter,
along with many other local artistic treasures.

LIGHT up your Life...with Upcoming show of Handprinted Silk Lamps by Andrea Saint-Pierre

Artist Andrea Saint-Pierre has shown her work at the gallery before...but never like this. This is an example of one of the original silk lamp works she has created- there will be a total of 8 in all shapes and sizes, in addition to her showcasing an amazing silk lounge which she completed  upon graduating from NSCAD University a short time ago.  Andrea is known for her urban imagery on silk and on skateboards. We can't wait to showcase these in our new gallery space..especially at night.

Stay tuned!  The entire show will be at the gallery for Friday, February 18th!

Don't be afraid of the basement...ummm LOWER GALLERY.

...and like all things Argyle Fine Art....things are changing all the time. This week is no exception. Adriana started to shift up the Lower Gallery this Saturday, and  continues to unpack. There is still so much left to do such as  more lighting and floors to get painted, but it's coming along. Here's a second attempt at hanging at our new space.

Seems a certain vibe has been created with this body of work by Marcel Kerkhoff, Sara Caracristi, Trevor Van Den Eijnden and Susan Malmstrom...amoung others. But don't be afraid of the Lower Gallery, ...we promise you the art will not bite.
