New Gallery Assistant Just Dropped...

Hello! I'm delighted to introduce myself as Emily Krueckl (she/her), the newly appointed Assistant Gallery Manager at Argyle Fine Art. With a passion for art making, curation and community, I am thrilled to be taking on this position.

Hailing originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, located on Treaty 6 land, I've since made my home in the vibrant artistic city of Halifax, also known as Kjipuktuk, for the last four years. I’ve been a lover of art since early childhood and have always found a way to get my hands on some kind of craft, paint or mark making tool!

I initially started my academic career in Vancouver, BC where I lived and studied interior design at Kwantlen Polytechnic University for four years. There I was exposed to the world of design, aesthetics and functionality. This foundation gave me the tools to explore and expand my personal artistic practice in unique ways I had never experienced before. My passion for creative expression and a deepening love for visual art pushed me to transfer degrees and move from Vancouver to Halifax where I proudly completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at NSCAD in 2021.

Nowadays my art practice consists largely of hand felting, painting and drawing. I am a sucker for portraiture, the expression of mundanity of life and finding different ways to abstract my ideas through my art!
Dubbed the “eyeball girl” in some of my social circles you’ll often find me talking about, sharing or selling my hand felted eyeballs at the occasional market.

As Assistant Gallery Manager at Argyle Fine Art, I am excited to join and contribute to the arts community and connect with fellow artists and art lovers. Come down to the gallery to say hello, or add me on my personal or artpage instagrams, @emnetsia & @lithi.em.art, and send me a message!
I can't wait to get to know you!

Summertime is flying by, but there is still a little time left to cross a few goals off that summer bucket list! Let's spend a summer day and night together and see what we can do! Why not get all the chores over with in the morning so we can spend the rest of the day having fun...The beautiful painting pictured above is "Morning Chores" by Alexander Koltakov, the perfect place to start a summer day!

George Spencer, Two Peaches, Oil on Panel, 6"x6"

We can't start on the bucket list until we have some energy! What could be a more refreshing summer snack than a peach? Two peaches! Take a peak at the above painting, "Two Peaches" by George Spencer. Both nutritious and delicious, now we have energy to go for a walk in the woods and cross that off the list! The painting below by Mark Brennan, "Horse Tails Over Sporting Lake Stream", captures such a magnificent moment in the woods!

Maybe your bucket list includes just feeling the waves and the water! It's amazing how such a simple sensation can bring all the feelings of summer back...Below is a stunning painting capturing such a moment! This is "Thalassophile" by Erin Hollingshead! Did you know that a Thalassophile is someone who loves the sea, and they are intimately linked to the shoreline and coastal air. So cool!

It is so magical to just sit where the waves meet the shore! Maybe this is exactly what is on your bucket list, and if so, take a peak at the painting by Lynn Johnson below, "Front Row Seat 1"!

How about inviting some friends along on this summer day? The beach is better with buddies, as you can see in the scene below by Deb Bromley, "Beach Party"! This artwork is the perfect example of fun in the sun...

While we are at the beach, we must dive in and see what lives beneath the waves! Isn't the painting below, "The Mother" by Caileigh Lambie, absolutely mesmerizing? Just a glimpse into the wonders under the sea!

The city truly comes alive in the summertime once the sun goes down and the moon comes out! On the bucket list could be going for a walk down the boardwalk to see the lights and hear the sounds! Take a peak at the terrific painting below by Jack Ross, "Festival on the Waterfront"!
