Valentine's Day is Coming: Give the Gift of ART

With our Pre-Shrunk 2017  show in full swing with over 300 works of art to choose from..it's easy to find the perfect art for all occasions. Art lasts forever!  Make sure to drop in and see the show in person if you can, as seeing art in person is the best way to experience it.

We've highlighted a few works that are currently available, that we feel would make wonderful Valentine's gifts. Remember each work is just $175 and measures 4" x 5".

This year give the gift of flowers that have staying power, like this beautiful PINK TULIP by Brigid McWhirther

Perhaps you adore carnations too! This dramatic almost vintage styled painting by Briana Corr-Scott is stunning!
A shimmer of gold and silver make these Thistles by Denise Mahoney a real treasure to give or receive
Of course, no romantic occasion would be complete without some beautiful skies. Red skies delight with Gordon MacDonald
SING IT OUT LOUD!  Tell someone you care for them with this happy work by Danny Bilsborough, with the hope for Spring and Happiness!
So remember to visit soon as each day new little works of art find homes! We can hardly wait to share this show with you!

Pre-Shrunk Sneak Peek: #5 and #6- Bats and Bugs

The countdown is on now! With just a few days now until PRE-SHRUNK opens on Friday, January 20th! We're uploading a few photos per day as sneak peeks into just some of the works you can expect to see. There will be just over 300 works included in the show.

Pre-Shrunk SNEAK PEEK #5:  Don't look now, but is that a BAT!!??  Oh, why yes it is! We met Abigail Lower at last year's Pre-Shrunk- just another reason why we love this exhibition so much. Meeting new creatives!  Since then we've gone on to host a solo show of her charcoal works during NOCTURNE and this season she and Melissa Townsend will be working on a two-person show.

Pre-Shrunk SNEAK PEEK #6:  BUGS! Beautiful bugs of all shapes and colours is the subject for new-to-us artist Kevin Loftus paintings.  His series of works almost look as if they are 3-d or textile based. These bugs are all dressed up for the party already, in shimmering colours. We can't wait for everyone to explore some of these new artists to the show first hand. See you soon! Just two more sleeps now!

Pre-Shrunk SNEAK PEEK #3:  Kelly Mitchelmoore has done it again! She has created a series of bold works such as these poppies , that she paints with small brushes and utensils to create fine lines and layers. It's rare for many of the artists in the Pre-Shrunk show to paint this small scaled works, especially Kelly who usually works on a much larger scale.

Pre-Shrunk SNEAK PEEK #4: And now for something completely different....TIC TACS by Kim Floyd! Kim's most recent show PANTRY launched in November and was greeted with popular appeal! Kim has continued with her pop-art inspired paintings with a focus on candy in candy-toned colours too! Make sure to watch for 5 of her brilliant little works that almost glow with pigment.

HIGH NOON is a time sensitive "sale" on  selected works that the gallery and artist that created them feel is some of their best works...but haven't found a home yet. Today's HIGH NOON featured work is by Cape Breton born artist Andy MacDonald. Glace Bay to be exact! Andy studied out west, in particular printmaking which is somewhat evident when you look at how he approaches his current medium of painting. Lots of mark making and experimenting with texture.

This work is called "Victoria Road", Acrylic and resin on board, 11" x 14" painted in 2013.
This piece is difficult to photograph without a lot of glare in order to see the image, but a lot is also lost from it's beauty if we just show it to you without the effect the resin. So here's two images.

BUY A HOUSE TODAY...a very artful house!

Victoria Road, image adjusted so not to see shine (ie the photographers reflection :-)

A truer image of the painting, but with a bit of our reflections. But the colours are more true here and this image also shows it's depth. Such a beauty! Just think you can tell your friends you bought VICTORIA ROAD, and you wouldn't be lying. :-)

Until tomorrow at HIGH NOON, this work sells for $375 and it's regular price is $195

This work is called "Over the Pass", Oil on Linen and measures 16" x 18" painted in 2014.
