Tonight we'll host our first FOOD+ART tour- Thanks Local Tasting Tours!

We reached out to the amazing folks at Local Tasting Tours here in Halifax to arrange a special evening of art and food! It's been so successful as far as ticket sales go, as all the tickets have sold out for tonight's tour, but if you are interested in finding out more information for the next tour in November, hop on over to their website or give them a call at : http://localtastingtours.com/

Tonight, our gallery will be teamed up with Indochine Banh Mi who we first met actually, through the Local Tasting Tours blog actually. We can hardly wait to introduce you to the owner and to also introduce you to our gallery, what's new and what's happening soon!

Since tonight will be all about food and art, we thought this would be the perfect time to share this NEW work by George Spencer with all of you.Pardon me, but I have to say this painting is truly BANANAS!
Wow.

George is a self-taught artist living and working in Halifax, who gets better and better each painting he creates.

Welcome to "CREATIVE EDITIONS" our first limited edition is now on it's way to Subscribers!

Hello everyone and welcome to mid-August. We love this time of year-the city feels alive and people are taking extra long lunch breaks to soak in all the rays of the days!

We're also excited because we just launched our first of the year-long series, CREATIVE EDITIONS (which you can learn more about by clicking HERE)  this past Friday, alongside the opening reception for well-loved artist Gordon MacDonald. Creative Editions is a fun and affordable way to start collecting art, learn about a variety of local artists and support them and local business while your at it. This project is  all about art appreciation and building new audiences, and so far it's been received with open arms and happy customers.

The first CREATIVE EDITION for the month of August is called "Study for August at Four" which is a limited edition print of a study Gordon MacDonald painted in preparation for his show, on now at the gallery. It's been wonderful to have people pick up their limited editions and then be able to see how the piece changed from it's beginning to it's final state.

Here's a quick shot of the study (of course more bright and beautiful in person) and then the final piece hanging at Argyle Fine Art. It's so interesting to see the subtle yet important decisions the artist took to create the final piece.

August at Four  Oil on Copper

There are only 50 prints of each Creative Edition printed and subscriptions are selling quickly. Each are hand signed by the artist and printed on archival paper with archival ink, and include a full artist bio. You can still begin your subscription in August. Simply give us a call to find out more about this program  and buy a subscription for yourself or as a gift. Prints are ONLY available to subscription holders.

The next CREATIVE EDITIONS will launch on September 15th!
