We asked Willow some questions about her studio process and most used materials...

"Often I will use a single paintbrush to paint an entire piece. This means even large blocks of
colour take a long time to finish, however, the repetition and uniformity of brush strokes is an
integral part of my process. My favourite brush type to use is a small flat brush. I find them the
best for crisp edges and pushing paint around."

"I am a very messy painter. I absolutely need to wear paint clothes in the studio as I am
constantly wiping brushes on myself."

What activities outside of your art practice do you like to enjoy?

"Now the weather is warming up I am getting very excited for camping season. Most of my
pieces are inspired by photos and sketches I have collected while hiking. Some of my favourite
local hiking and camping locations include Blomidon Provincial Park, High Head Trail, and the
Nine Miles River Trails. I am constantly looking for new places to explore."
