Painting a Day Series: April 21st, Dawn MacNutt

It just struck me, that the majority of our features in the painting a day series, aren't paintings at all... We feature a true range of mediums here at the gallery, and this blog series is a testament to that fact. Today's feature is by Dawn MacNutt, who combines techniques rooted in textiles, into beautiful, figural sculptures.

These willow figures  (woven when they are fresh, green and pliable) are beautifully painted in colours that embody Dawn's personality - these brilliant jewel like colours paired with the warmth of the natural willow are absolutely stunning.
