To commemorate the author's visit, we will be promoting 2 new "Margaret Atwood" inspired works by gallery artists Kim Danio and Mindy Harris for their upcoming exhibitions opening October 19th.
Harris' "Wonder Women" and Danio's "Big Shoes To Fill" exhibitions will explore the theme of "Heroes" and what it means to be a hero...
Kim Danio's definition of a hero makes little distinction between hero-icon-idol-celebrity-role model-legend. Drawing from categories of: humanitarian, pop culture, fictional (TV, books, movies), historical, Math and Science, literature, sport, local, and music. Expect the unexpected from an ordinary old purse, pair of shoes and upcyled materials.

Harris' s "Wonder Women" exhibition explores this theme with her hand-embroidered and watercolour portraits and quotes of heroic women from the past and present.
