Off the Shelf is a collection of paintings by Liz Bateman, that document the forms, colours, and personalities of some of the strange and wonderful marine life I have encountered as a biologist while working offshore on surveys and commercial fishing vessels. At-sea encounters with marine life are invaluable for getting a true sense of their colouration while they are still alive and as cold as the seafloor.  We've been waiting for the return of Trevor Van den Eijnden for years and years. Finally!  We are so excited to introduce many of you and reintroduce others, to his stunning paintings  and his unique way of including typography in art. You need to see these to really appreciate!  FULL SHOW IS NOW ONLINE HERE!  These works are also for sale prior to opening night, tomorrow at NOCTURNE. Call the gallery directly for pricing information.  perennial is a series of floral paintings made after the sudden death of Trevor Van den Eijnden’s mother, Charmaine. The work began with the flowers he once photographed and shared with her each spring. In these paintings, flowers bloom, fade and return, carrying memory, distance and grief alongside beauty. They are Van den Eijnden’s first paintings in more than a decade and a quiet tribute to the woman his family knew as the “Flower Child.”
