So, from now until January 15th, we'll be once again be doing HIGH NOON at NOON...where we will be featuring ONE piece of art at HIGH NOON that will be priced at a special price but for just 24 hours! The works selected for these days, are works that the gallery and artist that created them feel is some of their best works...but haven't found a home yet. We'd like to introduce you to these works and hope that some of them find a home with you.
Today's HIGH NOON featured works are three works are by Angela Carlsen, that were her studies for her second solo show at Argyle Fine Art waaaaaaaay back in 2009. Each work is an original photograph by Angela taken along Route 66. The images are then altered ever so slightly with an infusion of colour and additional digital drawings by Carlsen and then carefully transferred onto cradle board. These works are ready to hang, as each work measures 10" x 10" but the boards are 1.5" deep. The distressed style is intentional on each- as they are paying homage to the great history of these signs and spaces left in the past. There is much more texture (you can see the wood grain through the pigment on each) and the colours are a bit more alive in person than the images are able to showcase here.
